There's no sense in trying to hide any further, Hollywood has itself a serious problem at this day in time...
The iconic world of glamour that introduced the term, camera, lights, and action has become a former shell of itself.
But how did it come to this?
What brought Hollywood down to its knees to the point where the only thing noticeable at the ticket booths today are the chirping sounds of crickets?

Because it's a downright embarrassing situation we have here to say in the least; even the "Eye Monocle Emoji" sees what's obviously going on here folks!
The overpriced ticket sales have driven away movie-goers.
The movie content is failing as we speak.
Long time lovers of the cinematic movie environment have had it!
And it's sorry to say, but more people are choosing to watch movies at home online, or at a friend's house, etc.
There's even situations where people are choosing to park in empty movie lots just to watch movies on their smartphones for Pete's Sake!
This is because they miss the authentic movie setting so much that it brought them to a crisis state of nostalgia.

WOWZERS!
See, they're trying to re-camp that smell of old school movie realism that's humming the word term "Nostalgic!"
But, there's more to this bleak situation, because there's the new movie sheriff in town, and its name is called AI!
AI understands what is going on; but how you're thinking right?
It's because of the everyday online talk about this matter, it's feeding off that, understanding moviegoers' frustrations with Hollywood's continual pivoting.
Then comes the movie industry itself, which now sees the writing on the wall creeping up like rabid cabin fever!
And so a decision was made...
""They want movie magic to come back, well we'll give it to them by feeding them a force-fed pill in the form of AI!"
So, let's discover why Hollywood has been reduced to the size of a standard smartphone screen.

The 80s Reached Pinnacle Heights for a Moviegoer's Experience!

Yes!

It was the iconic 1980s, and it was truly a golden age for moviegoers back then.

This was time where the perfect blend of spectacle, innovation, and pure cinematic magic thrived!

You see, heading to the theaters in the 80s, wasn’t just about watching a film.

It was undoubtedly an event to behold, so invigorating where you marched full steam to the concession stand to grab your bucket of oversized popcorn.

It was either that, or you snuck into your bagging pants pocket. or a suspicious looking bulgy jacket, your choice of soda and a BK Whopper!

Just remember NOT to put too much ketchup on that whooper, or you'll cause a leaking messy red trail-which might result with you getting an unexpected visit from the local authorities at the movies! - [YouTube]

Nevertheless, your next "to do" thing was to find and settle down in one of those iconic creaky seats!

From there, you're just preparing for an adventure unlike anything you’d seen before.

Now around that time, you had a number of blockbusters hits that owned the 80s decade.

Check them out in the table list below:

See, these were the type of movies that parked butts in movie seats back then.

An all-time favorite that always seemed to get overlooked was "The Thing" -  [YouTube].

That movie had conviction, it demonstrated the struggles of a research team trapped on an Arctic base with an alien shapeshifting creature.

And despite the crew members' differences between one another, they worked together to try and eradicate the creature.

So, there you go, a simple, to the point premise, that delivers what's presented.

The absence of engagement, laughter, feeling of sorrow, the happiness of the protagonist's triumph, the audacity of the antagonist's strife!

That's what moviegoers miss, is simple well told movie stories shown within an ideal cinematic setting; one that harbor feeling of togetherness.

End result...

They'll keep coming back for more and moreas long as the ticket booth is at an affordable price!

Old School Special Effects Got Dumped; Enter "Semi-AI CGI"

It was hard to notice it at first...

However, there was an eventual shift introduced in movie making.

This was an undetectable layer of creative quality that got tossed into the cinematic formula.

It downplayed the once adored special effects, laced with true grit—we're talking the use of actual models, clunky animatronics, and real-deal explosions!

And those unforgettable motions where everything goes into slow-motion wizard mode...

Yeah, that made movies feel rich and alive!

Then came CGI, which can be considered the industry’s “Semi-AI” game-changer back in the late 80s into the 90s.

At first glance, it was pretty great; in fact, it worked well for classic movies such as "Jurassic Park,"  as well as "Terminator 2" - [the-article.com].

Enough CGI was used to bump up the older practical effects that weren't excluded from the final cinematic cut.

But you see, that's where "Hollywood cheapos" started getting hooked on it!

So, CGI was comparable to Flynn in the computerized world of 80s Tron.

And the reason of course, was because it was a cheap, quick, fix when editing films after the fact - [faroutmagazine].

The abuse of CGI got worse, soon entire films were getting CGI-ed into oblivion!

Seeming done stage-set worlds, monsters, and fight scenes were becoming subsets of mere computer pixels.

That meant, all the long days spent, where people were being paid to create handcrafted props, while others produced practical visuals were "X-ed" out!

And it didn't stop there, things such as real explosions were completely being faked.

It really got embarrassing when someone thought it would be great to insert  rubbery-suited looking monsters into professional cinematic productions.

That's where keen viewers started noticing this slight shift in visual quality and the cheap effects that slowly sucked the life out of these films! - [YouTube].

And yes... Actors were on board for the CGI as well.

That went from reacting to real stuff, to just faking everything while standing in front of a green screen!

Well, The Audacity!

"A Faithful Moviegoer Would No Doubt Say!"

Although, not all of it is so bad...

There were still iconic flicks like "Mad Max: Fury Road ," they were still using a blend of CGI and practical effects to retain some of that rich movie making nostalgia.

As for many others, well, they decided to venture in the opposite direction.

They just leaned way into the trickery content - it got to a point where the "Trix" bunny rabbit would have to blush with some much outright trick-based flattery.

See, it's like that old saying...

"Too much of a good thing is not always a good thing!"

So, although CGI has come a long way, that will open a Pandora's Box of uncertainty at one point or another.

And the advancements didn't stop there, because these abrupt changes were just getting revved up!

AI’s Growing Influence in Film Production

Alright, so here's what needs to be pointed out thoroughly, so the quiet part is about to be said whatever anyone likes that or not!

AI has been injected in a number of movies, and it's being applied to just about every part of movies in the 2020 decade - [Paste].

Surprisingly, it hasn't taken over every single aspectwell, not yet but that's going to change soon no doubt!

It's noticed in films like angry fires scorching the Redwoods out in California.

And it's spreading everywhere!

From visual effects, to the streamlining edits, and of course the tampering of entire scriptsNothing's safe from it!
If you study the special effects in cinematic products now, it's basically CGI on super-duper steroids with no kryptonite to dial it down!

You have now have hyper-realistic digital characters, out of control explosion scenes, and even entire backgrounds can now be created at the snap of the fingers!

So, say good bye to days of blood, sweat, and tears, all the necessary elements that should be applied to movie magic making.

Because it's AI-tools that now rule the Hollywood stage! - [Forbes].

It can whip up visuals, create digital characters and entire backgrounds, just the whole kitten-kobold packaged like a nicely packaged Christmas present... Even editing isn't spared from AI's grasp!

It so damn fast it can literally sit back (while sipping a digital strawberry-cherry flavored daquiri) sifting through footage, and it's picking out the best key shots.

Heck, it can even nudge an editor to either slow, or speed up the pacing of the film for Pete's sake!

Basically, it’s comparative to having a super-smart sidekick "set on go" 24/7 at zooming 200 miles an hour running through a 25 miles zone!

And no, it won't get ticketed by the movie police, because it knows all of the "wiggle in and out escape tricks" it studied in all of those blockbuster playbook scripts.

AI-Bots Are Taking Over Screenwriting

That's not a surprise to be honest...

For some time, AI-bots have been used to secretly join the writing staff to contribute to screenwriting.

And that leads to "experimental flicks" that are using algorithms to map out plots, tweak dialogue, they can even push the "SEO Vibe" of big-name directors.

There is still a certain level of control in favor of human writers.

As for these AI-bots, they just remain in the shadow cranking out scripts; although, it hasn't been completely smooth sailing or them in that space.
Even the cast isn't safe, Ai-studios are leaning on heavy on these bots to fabricate data in hopes to predict which actor will rake in the mad cash!

So, what this turns about to be is lazy planning, lack of human input when making key decisions, and studios are letting algorithms run the whole show. And what you get is a 50/50 wager basically.

Because it's too hard to try and predict how all the equations of a movie will play out.

It's like having someone hand you a blindfold, and you let them spin the barrel of a six shooter gun in a game of Russian Roulette...

Good Luck With That Outcome!

That's Quite Nonsensical!

Maybe so, but AI-bots are here to stay, and they will continue to shape every scene shown on the big screen to a viewing audience.

The Debate: AI-Innovation vs. Artistic Integrity

Artificial Intelligence is changing the entire landscape of Hollywood.

And the reason why is because AI-driven tools has made it easier to produce films faster, cheaper, and arguably more efficient.

Although, there’s still mounting concerns that artistic integrity is taking drastic hits in the process! - [Forbes]. So, on the one side, we have AI-innovation, which is is a filmmaker’s dream.

If they need a realistic CGI crowd?

Then so be it, because artificial intelligence can supply it.

If you need a young or older actor or actress.

No problem, artificial intelligence got your back there as well...

And as mentioned, it can speed up editing, refine scripts, and even help predict audience trends.

For AI-studios, it’s all about efficiency which eliminates all of the heavy lifting that goes into creating iconic films.

Admittingly, filmmakers are loving it, because it focuses on the aspect of storytelling rather than the technical side of things. But at end of the day, what are they left with?

GIF (Exploding Head Top)

It's duplicated content that sucks!

That's what!

It's like that recent rhyme people online probably have heard.

"AI doesn’t create. It replicates."

Basically, it reminds me of that Congress that came out in 2013.

There was the actress Robin Wright, who got on the nerves of the studio's head director Jeff Green, at Miramount Studios - [YouTube]

Green looses patience with Wright's criticisms and excuses about her employment with Miramount.

Green basically, punishes her, giving her an ultimatum, which is to allow Miramount the right to digitized her "likeness".

From there, she become the property of Miramount Studios, and is basically GCI-AI-ed trapped in a fake world controlled by artificial intelligence.

And during the course of the movie, her character just gets replicated to death in every possible created scene that exists.

That will be the similar result with continual AI-generated scripts, visuals, and even actors start replacing real artistic choices.

AI in this realm of film making just becomes a vacuum sucking the soul of filmmaking!

Humanism is a raw element, that's unpredictable, uncontained, which is something artificial intelligence cannot truly replicate no matter how good it is.
So, as of now, the movie industry is caught in a "Catch 22" type of situation.

Too much use of AI strip films of their authenticity in the long run.

Human creators, directors, and casts members are the pieces of passion, imperfections, and authenticity that make films memorable!

Because if it’s the latter, then we might be looking at a future where movies super-spiffy polished—but minus a lot of the human element...
